- I don't understand.
-
- A long time ago I got a GVP Spectrum card. I have an old 3.0 CPU card
- and a buster 9, and I could not run the card in Z-III mode. I know,
- since I tried it many, many times when I first got the card. It never
- worked. I set the jumper to Z-II and forgot about it, and things worked
- fine in Z-II mode.
-
- Today, just for grins, I tried setting the jumper to Z-III when I was
- messing around with some things. And much to my surprise, it works
- fine now!
-
- I am wondering why on earth it dind't work then and works now. Here are
- the major related things I can remember changing since then:
-
- * I reduced the scan rate of my screens to work around a problem with
- my card that displays small horizontal lines near the left edge of
- the screen when there are moving graphifcs. The card doesn't do
- this as much at lower scan rates.
-
- * I'm now using VMM to hold all my cybergraphics screens.
-
- * I changed from EGS to CyberGfx. (I never tried Z-III mode under
- cybergfx until today).
-
- That's all I can think of. My hardware is the same; I have not added or
- deleted any cards, changed any chips, set any jumpers, or anything else,
- in between the time it didn't work and the time it worked. And I am
- running the same OS (3.0). I can't think of anything else that seems
- even vaguely related. But it seems to have spontaneously started
- working.
-
- I'm sorta confused. Anyone have an explanation?
